Chloe had her last day of preschool today, and there was a little graduation ceremony where she received a certificate. Needless to say, I can't believe the year is already over! What a wonderful year it was, too. Chloe learned so much, and I am glad that we found a place where she could discover new things in such a warm environment. The final unit of the year was music, and she learned about instruments and composing songs. She made her own composition and titled it "My Heart Helps Me." So sweet! And she made some wonderful friends, too. But it is not goodbye: we are getting together to play next week and there is an all-school picnic (where the kids will sing songs, too) tomorrow.
Chloe is growing up so much. Her language is amazing. Yesterday, on a walk, she told me that moving is "bittersweet" because there are some good things and some bad things that happen when we move. One of the good things is that we are near to her new elementary, and we met a little girl on the block who will be in the same class with the same teacher. Chloe is very interested in her new school and wants to play at the playground there whenever possible.
Little Margot is growing, too, communicating amazingly well in both French and English. She gives something back to me and says, "I don't want that anymore." When Jerome tells her it is time to come in, she says, "No, rester dehors." She has begun "reading" a book aloud to me at nighttime, noting what the characters are doing and feeling. Her current favorite is Petit Ours Brun. She is enjoying our new home, especially the patio doors off the kitchen. She stands at them and watches the squirrels frolic on the fences and in the tress, and she comments on their actions with pure delight in her voice. She really has a love for animals.
